He has chosen to embrace his addiction rather than embrace recovery it seems. What is he thinking? I doubt thinking has much to do with it. If thinking (rational thought at any rate) was going on, he would not be doing what he is doing.
So what about you? How are you doing?

I’ve met so many people from AA who have made that CHOICE to take a clean path.
When stress or problem of life get them going they take another method of dealing with them.
Not everyone goes out to buy a bottle.
It’s funny that I have so many people in my family that are alcoholics, like Mom and Grandma, and I choose not to follow their example.
Detox will just get them sober for awhile, it’s the will power and drive that keeps them there.

Sue....sorry that you are going through this but he has choices-and needs to make them if he wants to get sober. Nothing you say or anyone else is going to "make him or fix him" to stop! This has to be within in him when enough is enough in his own mind-then it will be possible for him to stop if he wants too. It is a hard battle but if he wants it he will stop-on his own!
