I think you are doing great! I have tried it both ways-without a plan and (this time) with a plan. I always went back before because I wasn't prepared to take care of myself. This time I am. It will be two months tomorrow, and I feel like I have been let out of a dungeon. (He still lives in one, though. Oh well. His choice.)

All great ideas above me; if I can add just one more thing-start writing down what happens every time. Not only will it give you clarity if and when you seek legal advice, it will remind you WHY you need to do something. It is oh-so-easy to forget the bad stuff when it is your 'normal' (and when they start quacking and make you question your own eyes and ears).

Protect yourself at any cost. Addicts can get pretty nasty when they sense they are losing someone who has been their cushion.

I often come over here from the Loved ones of substance abusers forum and read the posts- equally inspiring.
This one especially- thank you to all who provided insight.
Truly inspirational.

When I saw this post surface again to the front of the line my heart sank.

Part of me is trying to forget this happened....part of me knows I shouldn't forget.

It just had such a strange affect of me seeing again....hmm...

but you are right HKA24, the people here are so great, insightful, inspirational, everything! They restore your faith, don't they!?!
