Some updates
If someone said him losing his job might be the thing that makes him choose sobriety, would you be willing to step away and let that happen?
For many years I made it about me and what I knew was best. The well-timed good deeds - I did them, too.
It is true, we all have to do what we need to do; it never hurts to examine the true reasons we are doing it.

If you folks really want to know more about it check out prisontalk.com. It's nearly all women talking about their men in prison, the indignities, the abuse, and some of them realizing that they are being played. It's a fascinating read. Sometimes they wait years for these guys to get out and the guy starts to use and run the streets the second they get home. There's one section for women who are in relationships with guys on death row. Hmmmm ....
thank you for caring. I really do appreciate it. It's rough road. So hard to navigate.
See, if he loses this job he won't be able to get a similar one very easily because he'll have a record. What's right can be very complicated.

Actually I think what's right can be very DIFFICULT, but quite simple.
My own personal recovery has meant not thinking I know what is best for someone else's life. It is very, very, difficult, but clear as crystal.
WO - I hope you know that I am not attacking you or trying to force you to see my way - I like to keep in mind that these are public boards and many, many people read them who never post. I think discussions like this can be valuable, not only to we who post, but those who do not.
I very much admire your willingness to put yourself out there. It takes a lot of courage.
