Awe, thanks for asking, Christie. I've been on antibiotics for 20 days now and my orbital cellulitis still hasn't cleared up. I'd been seeing an eye specialist for the last two weeks without much improvement, so he referred me to an opthalmic plastic surgeon and orbital specialist earlier this week.
I met with him today. He switched me to another anti-biotic (the third one I've tried so far), ordered a CAT scan of my eye, and a visual field test since I've been having vision trouble and sensitivity to light as well.
My eye still looks awful. Enough so that kids in the grocery store are pointing at me and saying, "Mommy, look at that lady," and several folks at work have suggested that I either wear dark glasses or an eye patch. Real nice, huh?
The good news is that I no longer have double vision and, for the most part, the pain has subsided.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this anti-biotic will be the magical cure I've been waiting for.
