Authenticity II
How late do they let Melissa stay? I imagine the nights are long.
I'm just stopping by your room to say good morning. I wish things were different, but they're not, so like everyone else, I just hope you don't mind folks like me coming around with our little words and flower pictures. Verte inspired me -- I'm bringing frangipani.

Good morning, Rob and Melissa!
I was thinking something weird this morning... that this thread is sort of like a safe place to come to for many of us here on SR. At least I feel this way... it's quite amazing
Hope everything goes well today, Robby

good morning, you two (well, it's morning here, lunchtime "there")..fits right into the time-slowing/speeding thing, too)
no surprise here you won't be drinking, Robby. you mentioning those threads that sometimes ask' if you knew you were soon dead would you...' made me realize anew how entirely your authenticity threads are about life. life, including dying , but not the death that drink was/is.
and how nourished you are, in all ways, and nourishing others, us,......

I HAVE PASSED MY SWALLOW TEST
Awesome come to mind, hahaha.
Thanks for all the thoughts, prayers, words, poems, good mornings, good nights, and so on and whatever!! Still got some huge trials ahead with the cancer and all else, nonetheless, I'll likely be going home later in the week. We'll see. Love you guys!
So, in a few hours the test results will be verified by the medical team, and I'll be able to drink my fluids. Maybe today, certainly tomorrow I'll be eating some solids. Sweeeet!!
Its a nice day to be alive!

Found this today on the Brain Pickings website:
It's Thomas Mann on transitoriness -
"What I believe, what I value most, is transitoriness.
But is not transitoriness — the perishableness of life — something very sad? No! It is the very soul of existence. It imparts value, dignity, interest to life. Transitoriness creates time — and “time is the essence.” Potentially at least, time is the supreme, most useful gift.
Time is related to — yes, identical with — everything creative and active, with every progress toward a higher goal. Without transitoriness, without beginning or end, birth or death, there is no time, either. Timelessness — in the sense of time never ending, never beginning — is a stagnant nothing. It is absolutely uninteresting.
Life is possessed by tremendous tenacity. Even so, its presence remains conditional, and as it had a beginning, so it will have an end. I believe that life, just for this reason, is exceedingly enhanced in value, in charm."
And I'll share a gardenia, a quintessential flower of the southern states with a heavenly scent

Awesome news, Robby!!!
Yes....keep us posted on your first, and subsequent, swallowing selections!
And my fingers are crossed that you do indeed get to go home later in the week...I'm sure your own bed and all your familiars are looking pretty good right about now!

Im so happy sending tons of love to you & melissa
Go Robby
Good news indeed!
Happy Robot and Happy Raccoon!
(Unfortunately, Dave the cat won't come out of his box of pillows in the basement.
It's his contemplative place...)
Would someone really make my day and post a lily of the valley? (I am technically challenged and can't bother Robby to show me how. )I am loving all of these flowers you're posting. I can't wait for the lilacs to bloom. I bought 2 potted Asiatic Lilies the other day and the smell when I wake up is so soothing.
Last night while at the hospital, I had the beginning of a Shirley MacLaine moment from Terms of Endearment. Rob's IV had finished and his pump alarm went off. At the same time he was due his pain meds. We waited 20 minutes with the alarm going off and Rob patting my arm saying, "It's okay, Honey". When a nurse finally came in I sat straight up and said,"we've been waiting 20 minutes"!, like a shrew.
Not my finest hour...
We are so far from where we were a week ago. People's reactions have surprised us, humbled us, and at times disappointed us. Again, would life have it any other way?
Hope everyone is having good, peaceful day. ☺️
By the way, I personally think that when the machines are dinging and screeching they are trying to communicate with this robot of mine. I'm a little jealous❤️
