It’s been awhile...
It’s been a long, long time since I was here. A lot of life has gone by.
One thing is very different this time. This time I want to be sober more than I want to drink. This time I will have a plan. And I will ask for help when I need it. First order of business is to join the June class tomorrow.
I am really, really glad to be back.

Hi LoveHateWhine
Love your name ! I’m new here and I think this site is wonderful. So much help and bolstering thoughts available in these threads.
Best of luck to you on your path to recovery.

It's so good to see you back, LHW. We have to be ready, deep down in our heart. It sounds like you are.
I had many lame attempts to get sober, but the last one took. 13+ years & I haven't looked back since joining SR. Not feeling alone anymore meant everything.
You can do it!

Hey, Welcome back! I had fun going back to the last Weekender thread you posted in (May of 2019 Weekender) and re-reading what was going on in the thread.
Come on back - this week's link: (Is it okay to have a drink now?...After all this time sober!...Weekenders 28 - 31 May 2021)"Is it okay to have a drink now after all this time? Weekenders May 28-31, 2021"

Your user name reminds me of when I was at in an appointment with an alcohol counsellor and I said to him “but I just love drinking” and he said “well part of you obviously doesn’t because you’re sat here with me “...
I thought my life would be over when I stopped drinking wine but I feel totally free and I have zero desire to drink. I drank 2 bottles of expensive Sauvignon blanc a night, every night, I’m now 2.5 years sober, AA works for me but there’s other ways of it’s not for you.
It’s hard at first, the hardest thing ever, but it gets easier and eventually you can become the person you were always meant to be before alcohol! You won’t regret it.
Good luck xxx
