Drinking is good
It wasn't good for the man that wrecked in front of my house tonight, didn't make the curve, missing a power pole, driving into a bush before coming to rest in someone's backyard. I'm thankful I'm not drinking tonight because it could very well have been me if I had.

I'm sure it can be for some people, just not for us folks that come here.
Recognising that was massively important for me. I'm happy for other people who can happily have a couple of drinks, but no drinking is not good for me.

What is alcohol? What's in it? How does
it affect us in mind, body and soul? What
happens when alcohol is consumed in
whatever quantities as it flows thru our
veins, enters our blood stream, capillaries,
arteries, muscles, our brain, every inch
of our beings?
Knowledge of alcohol, addiction affects
is all extremely important to learn or be
taught about, read and educate about.
There is nothing good about addiction,
it is a disease, sickness, illness, and epidemic
affecting many folks unless one gets the
help needed to put it to rest.
Admitting we have a drinking problem,
accepting we have a drinking problem,
and believing there is a program of
recovery taught to us to incorporate
in all areas of our life can and would
keeps us sober one day at a time for
many days down the road.
If we don't understand alcohol and addiction
then have folks knowledgeable in this area
to teach us, just like they did for me 26 yrs
ago along with many many others who found
the solution to remain sober for yrs themselves.
You can stop the insanity and get off
the merry go round for good using
willingness, openmindedness and
honesty to learn how to live and not
die.
You are not alone, so you never have
to go thru this alone or have to figure
this addiction and recovery out by urself.

In the last few years of my drinking I would come home from work and chug my first drink, more often than not, gagging and forcing it down. I could feel it burning my throat while willing myself not to throw up. I would do that until the urge to vomit passed and then keep doing it until I passed out.
That seems anything but natural to me...
Just my opinion after only 17 days since my last drink(s)

Drink might might be good for a time, even some.of the time....but it is mixed in with hell. .. broken promises, arguments, hurt, lost childhood, broken dreams, lies lies lies.... shame , anxiety, fat and ugliness, pain, broken bones broken hearts.... not to mention puke, headaches, palpitations ....bad guts, shame and guilt and fear... and worry about health...
I wouldn't pay that for a bit of good.... seems a crap deal to me.
