Leftover wine in the refrigerator at work!
Hmm. I don't know what your workplace is like but I can imagine the impression I would leave drinking at work and getting stupid. You have over a year sober time other than that one incident you posted about. Stay strong!

I/we can't talk you out of it, make a choice.
But you drunk sucks anyway you look at it. The only thing that doesn't see it as sucking is the addiction lying to you , disregard those thoughts and feelings, they're lies , you being drunk will suck not a lie.
Hope you make a good choice, I really do( not a lie)

Not sure why there is wine at your work, but 100% sure drinking it would be. Big mistake.
Close the fridge, and throw yourself into a project. Stop and get some coffee or if you are like me, Diet Coke, on your way.

Sc, you are too valuable to allow the thought of a drink to control your actions, other than to take that bottle and dump it.
mind if I ask why there is alcohol in the fridge at work? seems that would be somewhat, idk, unallowed?

Should you be the one to touch it, throw
it out as it doesn't belong to you and its
not your responsibility to clean out the
refrigerator or is it?
Taking care of you and your own side
of the street is your responsibility in
learning and remaining sober one day
at a time.
Accepting people, places and things
just as they are meant to be at any
given moment is another lesson we
learn in helping us achieve a solid
recovery foundation in life and for
ourselves.
With coming here to share about
this experience at work where alcohol
is present and its affects on you in
early sobriety and not trying to handle
this alone or by yourself is good progress
in recovery.
Throwing or touching something that
doesn't belong to me is none of my
business. All I'm responsible for is
continue to learn healthier ways to
live life alcohol free.
Alcohol and temptations will always
be, however, it is up to us to know
how to avoid them, deal with them
as humanly possible using what we're
taught and learned.
Continue to check in with us and
don't allow alcohol whether at work
or at your local grocery store ruffle
your feathers or disturb what you
are working so hard to achieve for
yourself and life.

I'm only on day 4, but I can say that there has been beer and moonshine in my work fridge since I walked in Monday morning. My stomach sunk a little when I saw it, but I haven't really given it any more thoughts since I first laid my eyes on it. So...look at a different shelf when you open the fridge. Stay away from the fridge. Just stay sober for today!! You can do this!!!
The bottles are left over from an office party. (Lawyers drink a lot so it's really nothing out of the ordinary in this business. ) Anyone is free to take them. The temptation is to take a bottle home. Ugh. I'm starting to hate the holidays.
If you can't stand the heat ..
STAY OUT of the Kitchen.
Stay strong !
You tried this experiment before, secretchord, and you already know what will happen. If you drink a bottle of wine, this thing will come back to life with a vengeance.
AV is alive and well -
I planned the whole thing -
That's not to say that you wouldn't be able to stop again, but there is no guarantee that you would stop until things got really bad again.
Just say never.

Wine, beer, liquor....its all dress pretty
to catch ones eye, when we as alcohols
had to learn that it's all poison. A controlled
substance that that takes a hold of our
minds, bodies and souls and is dangerous.
Once the holidays are over, we still
have to wake up, however, and sadly,
many won't wake up, others will end
up in jail, and then there those like
us in recovery, sober, healthier, happier,
no regrets, no remorse, no starting
over or resetting our sobriety date.
Yes, we do have a choice and no, you
don't have to go thru this alone as you
have your support system with us here
in SR to guide you along in your journey
one step at a time.
So many have gone back out to come
back in to report back to us that they
had made a mistake or had to go out
to test the waters or do some control
drinking or using and that it doesn't
or didn't work out. That nothing has
changed.
Isnt that enough to help you decide
not to pick up alcohol poison and drink?
It was and has for me and countless
others who have found success in
recovery and life.
You can do this for you....yourself.
