You are all awesome!

To recognise that you may have a problem, takes tremendous strength and courage and is the very first step in changing your life, forever. It takes a lot, to take a good hard look at yourself, to recognise, know and want change, not many people are willing to admit that to themselves, fear, pride and ego prevent them from doing this.

You are here on this forum because you want to change, and that is simply amazing.

Wherever you are on your journey, just take a little moment to tell yourself how amazing you are for wanting to better yourself. Be proud that you have taken that first vital steps, of admitting there is a problem and seeking help, that takes courage.

You are not alone x

Thanks, Blueberry, I think that as well, recognising that support can help and stick with it.
It is wonderful what a group of like-minded people can achieve.

My wake up call was health related at first. Then, after I stopped drinking I realized how numb to the habit I had become, how my real identity was tied up in wine, hard to figure out how it got so I had to drink every night. Hard to feel awesome though I guess it is pretty awesome to have this chance to regain health and sanity.

It is x We all need a little reminder every now and again! remember this illness will lie to us - quite a lot of the time! We need to throw back at it and say actually, I am pretty awesome for challenging it straight in the face. If you like its a bit of an f-u alcholism!
