How many Day 1's did you have?
Don't feel discouraged trying to get sober sounds easy but as everyone knows its anything but so surround yourself with the support at SR you can join the February class in newcomers which is excellent
Have you thought about a plan ?

Thank you for the kind words, that's really what I need. I'm just down in the dumps about all of this today. I'm going to go read Dee's thread on making a plan.
That's a good plan, soberlife.
Here's another very good link:

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

My first two attempts failed because I didn't have a plan.
This is my third attempt. I had a good plan, and I'm doing well so far -- almost a month in!! That's a personal best for me!!

More than I can count. I didn't give up, though and used each failed attempt as a learning experience. This time around, I'm feeling better than ever about my decision to quit and it finally just feels right. Three weeks today and counting. You can do it! Just find a plan that works and make a commitment that you will never drink alcohol again. Then take it one day at a time until those days start adding up!
There were times I swore off alcohol but never really had a serious intention or thought of long term sobriety. Quitting was mainly to absolve me of compiled guilt and get others off my back.
I established a sobriety date in June of 2014 and have no plan of changing that. The difference was I sought the help I needed to quit and stay stopped.
There are many ways to achieve sobriety - mine is thru AA - but it is certainly not the only way, no question. SR is a testament to a variety of journeys. Perhaps the common thread regardless of plan or method is the very serious willingness to accept we cannot drink, at all - ever. After that the rest can be filled in according to each individuals desires.
Find your way, have your experience - WE stay sober, together - not alone. Change is possible. There are hundreds of examples on here daily.........you are connected to some of the worst drunks on the internet who are staying sober, today.

Hi soberlife, I'm willing to say that every single person living in sobriety started with Day One. You probably know that as well. At least you are showing an effort and commitment. I wish you the best. Tomorrow is day 2. Right?

I've made it through Day 1! well, almost, and at my family's there was open bottles of wine -- and I was tempted b/c of withdrawals but I didn't. I'm not looking forward to what will likely be a sleepless sweat filled night but onward and upwards
