Waves politely
Hello all. I'm one of the new guys here and am glad to have found the site. I've been a drinker for approximately 15 years and I feel that, after many false starts, I'm ready to let go of alcohol. I'm sick and tired of feeling, well, sick and tired. And I have to tell you, it's tough being a guy in his later 30's who's beginning to resemble a pregnant female. So I'm hoping to contribute regularly and that it may help. Anyway, thanks for reading, ladies and gentlemen. Good health to you all.

Many of us just got sick and tired of being sick and tired.......others were driven under the lash of alcohol to recovery (in a white van

Thank you, everyone. I woke up this morning feeling awful and so I just know that I have to be done with it. Obviously, much easier said than done, but I simply cannot keep abusing myself with a twelve pack a day (it certainly did not begin that way). It's hurting my body and my wallet. And I know, those times I've stopped before, I've felt wonderful and dropped weight. I'm just dying to recapture that feeling and keep it this time.

Thank you everyone. Each one of you has made me feel incredibly welcome and it means a lot to me. I have successfully abstained from drinking this evening, though dealing with some wonderful aches and bloating while waiting for my body to settle down and readjust. Abdominal exercise seemed to help alleviate that a bit. I hope everyone else is hanging in there just like I am.
