Sacre Bleu!

Man, I can't stop thinking about drinking today! Have today and tomorrow off and it would be so easy to just grab a bottle from around the corner and go to town!

Car is still in the shop (has been for about 3 months, now) so I'm not mobile at all, never got the call for my job interview yesterday. I'm frustrated and feeling kind of "f it!" today.

I have every reason to not drink, and no good reason to do it. And yet it's still nagging at me. Ugh!

Anyway, going to do laundry, go to the market for groceries. Hopefully this will pass soon. Haven't really wanted to drink this badly in months!

Just wanted to get this off my chest. Thanks for listening!

Well for what it's worth that sounds like a terrible idea.

If I had a couple days off, I'd go for a nice long hike in the wilderness and see what it had to tell me.

Then maybe play my guitar a little and catch up on chores....

What self-nourishing things might YOU do with the gift of some time off?

Drinking is self-destroying.... What alternatives can you envision?

Put it out your mind and get on with your sober routine .

Is there something more you can do ? are you in AA ? got to a meeting ? phone a friend ?

I found chocolate ice cream , a good film and a nice long and pampering shower helpful .

Just think how nice it will be to wake up without a hangover in the morning .

Some of my blackouts lasted days so there was always the chance i'd loose a few days and know nothing of that time … scary ..

keep on , m

Don't do it! Think of all the wonderful anxiety you will feel for DAYS afterward. It's not worth it.

Stay busy. Do something fun. Keep your mind occupied. One thing about time. It has no choice but to go by, and it will and eventually it will be bed time and you will have survived, one day at a time.

You've got today and tomorrow off, this could be fun! In know you said your car is being repaired but maybe some long walks during the day could be good?

Those days sneak up but then they pass. Go to the market and pick something good to eat and take your time preparing it.

And good job posting

To what end, SDH? You might get a brief period of 'relief', but it's fake - and there would be a price to pay. You'd be disappointed in yourself, and no real help would come from it. It's a great thing when we realize it never helped us cope with anything - and only adds to our anxiety Took me decades, but I finally get it.

I'm glad you posted about your temptation.

Yes, to what end?

Nope, can't think of a good reason. I made a post on another thread earlier that just put the thought of drinking in my head. I haven't been posting here much lately, and I also haven't been thinking about drinking much lately. Sometimes being on SR can set off little triggers in me, I guess.

Regardless, I'm glad to have you all here. If left to my own devices I would probably not have made it even this far. Thanks to all!

Stay strong SDH. Great job on posting when you need help. That's where I failed last time I relapsed. If I just would have posted, I might have avoided another 60 days of drinking.

Well done and you will get through this.

Don't do it. You'll be SO unhappy afterward.
Candy works for me. I've been eating a lot of candy the last few days.
I know it's temporary so I don't care.

Update: I just got off the phone from that job interview. For some reason they didn't get around to calling yesterday, so they called me today. Good thing I wasn't drinking!

Seriously! That would of sucked if you'd been drinking when you got that call!
