Don't worry about it....

Wondering when it'll "get better"?

Struggling to get sobriety to stick?

Sticking with it but finding it dreadful?

Swore "not again" - but did it anyway?

Tried and tried and tried but found yourself unable?

Felt SO good, but then got overwhelmed with anxiety or sadness or fear or grief or anger?

Quit one, but not the other?

Had it for SO LONG.... but 'threw it away'?

Don't worry about it.

Sad? it's OK.

Feeling defeated? That's human.

Despairing? I get it.

But, don't worry about it.

Remember; it's OK. It's human. It's not going to last forever. And RIGHT NOW you have the choice. You always have it.... no matter what choice is behind you - RIGHT NOW is a new one.

What will you choose?

Don't worry....

just choose.

FreeOwl, I love this advice. Worry is such a useless emotion. I fight it constantly.

And not worrying is not the same as not caring, is it? I feel so much better when I DO things than when I just WORRY about what needs to be done.

Simple advice is often the best advice. And I think your post proves that. Thank you for the important reminder.

Thank you Free. It's comforting, especially on the Newcomers page!

I definitely don't think worrying and caring are the same thing.

Caring can be acted on - by making a change or saying a prayer or offering a hug or sending an intention or giving support - to self or others.

Worrying is a paralyzing place. Worry keeps us rooted in fear.

When we care, we can set an intention but also accept that it may not happen. We can care without expectation.

When we worry, we focus on the expectation and become attached to it, good or bad.
