TOPIC: I Want To Celebrate My 24 Yrs. Sobriety With You Today
Good Morning SR and Happy Monday to you.
I woke up this morning wondering how I
wanted to spend this day, my 24th sobriety
anniversary and my decision was pretty clear
that I wanted to spend it here with my SR
family where I spend many of my days at.
BECAUSE
The fellowship and support here is outstanding
as each one of us brings our own ESH - experiences,
strengths and hopes of what life is and was like
before, during and after your addiction.
Even for those who are ACOA, Al-ANON and
everything inbetween.
I still find myself wanting to shout from
the roof tops that I am sober one more
day for a many one days at a time added
together to get me where I am today, but
also want to remain humble and sincere
in my thoughts and actions.
What else can I say. I am just happy to be
here with you guys and want to say Thank
You for being here for me and am grateful
for each of you that has been an important
part of my journey and recovery.
Luv You Guys

Congrats Sharon...I am glad to spend it with you too. You have helped me on my journey and I appreciate your insights and comments. Takes a SR village and in some case a Fellowship too. 24 years is an amazing accomplishment! That is 8,766 days strung together - nice job
What an outstanding accomplishment Sharon!
I love the way you put it... "I am sober one more
day for a many one days at a time added
together to get me where I am today".
Makes me realize that we don't have to look far into the future to add today as another sober day...
So true and again, GREAT job!

When I first entered recovery and listened
to a many a members who accumulated
yrs. of recovery, all I could think of was,
I want what they have, even tho I
had no idea what all experiences I would
have to go thru to get there.
We all get somewhere's in recovery
going thru twists and turns to get
there and for each experience we
go thru we grow from them.
24 yrs. of twists and turns in my life,
and now I have many of those experiences
all those folks told me about in my own
recovery and life now.
Many lessons learned, many layers
peeled, and my journey isn't over
yet today. I hope and pray that my
journey is full of many more awesome
experiences so that I can share with
you.
