Benefits Of Encouragment!
A little tip that I have found so helpful in early recovery is encouraging others.
We may not always have the answers and we shouldn't pretend that we do nor should we
give suggestions to others unless we are doing the very things we are suggesting and are
living a sober life.
I see a lot of people talking the talk in my life but not walking the walk. I think it is wrong.
But that's another story I won't get in to.
But...No matter how long we have been clean and sober we can still encourage someone, we
can listen to them, let them know we are pulling for them.
We can pray for them, give them a shoulder to cry on and sometimes that is all we can do.
Even if you are new here there are rewards in reaching out and encouraging another
person who is struggling to stay clean and sober.
Miss venuscat sends out a warm Welcome to people who are brand new to the SR community.
I think that is so awesome!
Miss Tempebrenn prays for each person in the 24 hour club after clicking Thank You on their post.
You know these small little acts take us out of own self obsession.
And it may be just the thing someone else needs to go one step further.
It is just a good thing to do. I don't have to fix anyone today and it is not my responsibility
but I can encourage them and let them know they are not alone.
There is nothing like the therapeutic value of one addict helping other. We understand each other.
So please take a moment to message one person in the 24 hour club today with a word
of encouragement. You just may make a new friend and build your own support system
as well.. Just click on their name or Avatar and it will take you right to their message board.
We are in this together!!
