Wow. I can't believe my class is being retired. It makes me happy, though. It feels good to be three weeks out rather than a few days. The more time under my belt, the better.
I had my last drink (finished up my last few gulps of wine) exactly three weeks ago right this minute. I told myself "that's it" but God knows I told myself that lots of times before. But it really was the last.

Just a shoutout from a J14 Member (January 2014):
Congratulations on your decision to quit!
I wanted to share some of my experience with last month's group with the February 2014 group:

Take the time to come to your month's thread and participate every single day - by participate, I mean anything from reading and keeping up with the thread, to liking posts that resonate with you, to actively posting. It is a great help in keeping your head in the right place. Be committed. If you fall or stumble, that is where the other members will take your hand and do their best to keep you moving along. Long timers (people who have a lot of sober time) will stop in and encourage you (most of all Dee-you'll love this cat-he's got good advice, if you take time to read and let it in)
Staying involved in some way with my month's group and posting every single day in the 24 Hour thread were the 2 most important things I did. (Deeker, who runs the 24hr thread is awesome!) It kept me aware and thinking about what I was doing. It gave me encouragement and will when I didn't have it to give to myself. It helped with urges. It gave me so much good information, esp about PAWS (a good thing to know about - do a search here at SR for plenty of info). And it also let me know that I wasn't alone in having this addiction or feeling those feelings or having the physical issues I have. That's big for me!!
Sorry for such a long post - I just wanted you, whoever you are to know the benefits of being in a "month group" and not to be afraid to join in!

Good morning everyone. Wanted to stop through and offer support to everyone making February their month. January is mine and I'm 19 days in and this time really focusing on one day at a time. I really recommend the 24 hr sign up in the daily support threads forum. It takes 30 seconds but it's a commitment for that day that you are not going to drink.
It has gotten easier for me past the 14 day mark but difficult times will be coming. Just know that through the harder times you can rally appreciate the good ones.
Everyone take care and be safe.
