Holy crap! I have never made it past 30 days. I am very excited. And nervous at the same time. This weekend my parents got all of us room at a local casino for our birthdays. (My was 30, my brother is 40, and my father is turning 70.) We are doing a spa thing, having dinner, going to see Wayne Brady, gambling, shopping, and having brunch in the morning. My family knows that I no longer drink and my boyfriend is staying sober with me for this overnighter to support me. I am not as nervous as I thought I would be and I also don't feel anxious about drinking. I know that I simply cannot drink, period. I will have a blast will all the activities, will be able to stay awake and remember the night, and will be able to get up for a fantastic breakfast. I'm nervous because my mother gets super drunk and out of control during occasions like these. There will be a bunch of us there so I will avoid her. I may just have a few extra cigarettes though...

If I ever go to America, I want to go to an NA meeting. If you've never done this, maybe while you are out-of-town would be a good time to try!

Congrats on making it past 30 days pattyj!! Your special 30th birthday has an extra special goal to celebrate! That's great that your boyfriend is helping in the moral sober support.
