Tough Love?

I have only been on this site for a very short period, but have read alot of posts/threads and have replied to a few.

I have been through the mill with my drinking and at only 7 months sober, Im feel on a knife edge as to how to reply to some of the posts. I feel deeply for all the people who are really having a tough time... Im not kidding, it sometimes really upsets me... I know its only typing on the screen, but its peoples lives... sometimes it makes me feel happy, you know, the good news stories, but alot of the time I feel so upset and frustrated at how to get through to people who are having it really hard!

There are times when I type something, then delete it as I don't want to offend someone and really have to think of how to put it in words. Its tough for me as, wierdly enough, Im a sensitive soul! As with anything typed, unless you know the person personally you can't easily express things in a few words to relative strangers!

What Im kind of trying to say is, what is better ...pander to what these suffering people want to hear, or tell it straight... hhmmmm

I try to be straight. It's taken me a while to get mature enough to be willing to tell someone what they need to hear knowing it'll make them mad at me vs what they want to hear so they'll like me......but not really do them ANY good.
