So tired
Well try other things like you are by coming here! Have you looked at any books on addiction? There is a great deal of personal and medical information you can read to get a handle on your situation. Just reading the info compiled in these boards was eye opening!
Thank you.
Life isnt all bad but man it sure could be better. I have so many wonderful opportunites in front of me.
Booze is killing my motivation tho. And i just feel like fried hell.

Welcome Bobby!
Alcohol wore me out, too - mentally, physically and emotionally. It was scary to think about quitting, but I knew if I kept drinking things would only get worse and the mornings were just total misery already......
Getting support helped me turn things around and I couldn't be more grateful. Keep reading and posting - you can do it!

Bobby, I have been where you are, tired, weary and longing for a better life.
I've not been here on SR long, just a couple of days, and been sober for 5 days now (hopefully the last of many attempts to quit drinking).
Sounds as though it is time to focus on those wonderful opportunities in front of you.
I don't know what will help you, Bobby. It helped me to pour every last drop of booze down the sink and get rid of all empties right away. I've also gotten rid of my drinking paraphernalia.

Its been a lifelong problem. Got drunk the first time when i was 7. Been drinking steadly since i was 13. That was 34 years ago. Mostly beer but the last few years its been liquor. A lot of it.
Welcome Bobby,
I found this site near the beginning of this year, I read so many accounts of people reclaiming their lives it gave me hope that it was possible for me to do the same. I have relapsed twice this year and the last was one hell of a three month bender, but it has made me learn more about myself, how and why I drink, and has made me more determined to stay sober from now on. The drink is not something I have to do anymore, I don't have to give in to it and my outlook is becoming brighter each day. I use a mix of AA, AVRT and this site to help keep my mind on track. Good Luck and don't give up.

When it became scarier to think about continuing to drink, than to think about quitting, was when I reached a turning point.
Been there with ya Bobby. Glad you have come here for support.
Be open and honest with your doctor tomorrow.
If AA doesn't click with you, what do you plan on doing to stay sober. Most find it impossible to do on shear will power.
