Okay, so I lost 4 beloved dogs and one cat in a little over a year.
Got neighbors down the street, druggies, with a whole slew of unaltered dogs.
Momma dog (Dingo mix) had a litter back in March.
The two daughters of the family were going door to door a few weeks ago looking for future homes for the pups.
There are 7 males and one very timid female.
Sigh.
Initially I said no.
And I thought...and thought....and thought...and I knew what kind of homes they would go to.
They wouldn't be in homes where they were vetted and fixed.
Sigh.
I thought about the little female eventually having litter after litter, just like Momma dog.
I caved.
I wasn't expecting the little one for two more days, so I was not prepared when one of the daughters and the son showed up on my porch today with her in hand!
So, without further ado, I present to you Ku'a, which is Aboriginal for dog.

awwwww, what a beauty!!! She is so lucky to have Mama DeVon and is going to simply THRIVE with you!
Thank you for taking her. It just breaks my heart to think of animals out there who don't have loving homes and people to take care of them.
Hugs and prayers!

I gasped when I saw her!!!
What a stunning baby. I could kiss that little pink belly for days.
You can't help but believe in angels when you see eyes like those.
Thank you for opening your heart to her after the loss you've had. It is not easy to do. Just think how she will blossom in your care.

I think she's going to fit in fine. Despite being very tiny (maybe 2 pounds max right now), she has already managed to master going up and down my two concrete steps to the back yard.
When Randy my greyhound walked away from her earlier while she was sitting on the bottom step, she literally launched off the step into the yard after him, and darned near gave me a heart attack!
I see lots more grey hair in my future!
Stamp me certifiably insane.

Few more pictures....
I tell you, there have been times in my recovery that my depression was so severe that had it not been for my fur kids, I think I would have ended it.
They have been a huge part of my life for so long.
I've know quite a few lousy men in my life, but I've never had a lousy dog or cat!

I agree...more pics That last one is my favorite....so far!!
TWO POUNDS? Holy cow, my CATS would smother her if they sat on her! Heck, even our overweight chihuahua would! Of course, the chihuahua (Tinker) would LOVE to play with her!
I keep coming back to this thread to look at that adorable face.
Hugs and prayers!

I love puppy breath! The last time I had a 6 week old pup was when my AD brought Shiloh to me on Christmas Eve with a big red bow on top of her head. That was 1997!
I'll try to get more pics tomorrow. Amber took most of the pics today while she was over. Right now Ku'a is on the move all over the house!
