She's beautiful!

My furrball has been a great comfort to me, for sure. He's a huge pain in my butt, but I wouldn't trade him for anything!

I had a greyhound/everything else mix when I was a kid.
He was given to me the day after my dad's funeral.
i think I was 9. maybe ten.

To have that dog during that time was unspeakably healing.

I named him 'blaze'.

He was marked JUST like this puppy.

What a sweet memory.

I didn't find a whole lot in researching Aboriginal languages as far as pronunciation. I did find that it's typical to put the accent on the first syllable, and then every second one after that.

So, I say "koo-ah" when I call her. She always looks at me, but I suspect it's a lot more due to the singsong tone of my voice than the actual name.

She's also bowlegged, so I chant to her "men like to go swimmin' with bowlegged women" a lot!

Sleep? What's that? It didn't exist last night!

Momma dog has huge ears that stand straight up. She tunes in to overseas radio stations that way, according to her owners.

Baby daddy is unknown. They tried to accuse the neighbors across the street that their male lab had impregnated Momma. The neighbors politely tried to explain that their lab was neutered, that he in fact did not have all the equipment to impregnate. These people still argued.

Therefore I chose not to believe any theories they might have on daddy. Ignorance is curable through education. Stupidity is forever!

Oh, and the owner was standing on the porch when I went over to look at the litter of pups. I was talking about my college classes and she said "Hey I got 2 college degrees in 2003!"

You would had to have been there, seen the condition of the house (the front door was wide open), to understand how difficult it was for me to keep a straight face and say, "Oh, that's terrific!"

The neighbors' neutered lab got her dog preggers, you know!

I take it neither of her 'degrees' was in biology.

I tried that the first two nights, and that did not work! She did everything from chew on my nostrils and ear lobes, to playing tug of war with my hair!

She has a very large crate with a soft baby blanket in it, and last night everyone got sleep! She only got me up once in the middle of the night for potty break.

Considering how young she is, that is fantastic. This morning she trotted outside and did her business just like the big dogs.
