My first 90 Days sober ever!

Hi Everyone,

I am pretty sure this is the first time in 20 plus years that I have been without alcohol for 90 days, wow. Thanks everyone for your support throughout my first 3 months clean and sober. It has been a tough road taking almost all of 90days to feel any significant improvements. Life has never felt better and I can only imagine what the future will bring .
For those of you who are having a hard time staying sober or still feeling like crap while being sober, "stick with it and dont give in" I can tell you that things do change and it will be an amazing journey without that demon following you around.

Thanks Again,
MahiMahi

Dean
Hi Dean,

I felt like I was drugged 24/7 no energy what so ever for the first 8 weeks or so. I was also a nervous wreck, no focus, my thoughts all over the place, man I thought I was going crazy. I had no desire to do anything and was beginning to think that life was just not worth living anymore. I couldnt sleep and when I did get to sleep it was only for a few hours or so. Well with the right nutrition and exercise and a positive mental outlook I have found my way back to feeling normal again. Like I said it was a long road for me but well worth it.

Stick with it Dean, no one said it was going to be easy you will be thankful you did.

Mahi, that's great. I am somewhat similar, I haven't gone this long for about 15 years, I guess. Passed my 5 months over the weekend. I think an urge or two will come about once the 6 months get here, but I have been keeping my eye on my outlook. I think with me it is not so much a challenge not to drink out of a sense of old routine or boredom but more the exasperations or whatever pulls me down into a negative mood - those are the things that I am wary of, but still going strong for me.

Hi Toronto, five months is awesome, great job. I think my biggest problem, which is similar to yours is still feeling down or depressed and that makes me think that mabey a pill or a drink will make me feel less depressed. I know it wont but that thought passes my mind pretty much on a daily basis. I will keep your accomplishment of 5 months sober in my mind the next time I think about taking a drink, thanks!

It can be like an incentive thinking about the amount of time we put behind us without "using", that's true.

Congrats MM. Giving up alcohol is a little like playing Monopoly when you're
winning. You keep passing GO!
