Thanks Sober Recovery

Hi there

Just a post for no other reason than to put some thanks out there to the people that post here.

I don't post regularly myself - mainly because I just don't have the confidence to be posting replies to people who are in desperate situations and in need of a far greater wisdom than I have to offer...

I posted last January (2009) 5 days in to my recovery. I'm now on day 472 and I can think of 3 definite occasions when this forum has saved my skin in difficult situations where I would have fallen before...

I've done this pretty much alone in the real world (although with massive support from my partner). So I call in here two or three times a week. I have a folder where I save all the posts that mean something personally. It's grown pretty large.

So thanks - from me... And unbeknownst thanks from a 20 month old lad... A black lab... And my partner - all of whose lives have immeasurably improved from the strength found within this clean and healing little corner of the web.

Fantastic!! Thanks so much for posting. Well done on your 472 days sober. An awesome achievement.

SR is such a treasured place for me too. It has helped me immensely in my recovery.

Peace out

I feel the same about this little "clean and healing" corner of the web. I treasure my sobriety partly because of taking better care of my dogs. I give them my best now and it's so good for them.

That was great - thank you for telling us. It means the world to me when I think someone has been helped by things I've said. I hope you'll consider posting more often. Congratulations on your new life.

Beautiful post, Chump!

I think it's great that you read here and keep some of the posts. We are all here to help each other and to help ourselves.

Your post brought tears to my eyes. It's not confidence or length of sober time that helps people - it's honesty, empathy and humility - you've certainly got that and then some.

Thank you.
