Smile Put on your dancing shoes!

Lots of serious things going on these days- HOWEVER- I have been known to shake a leg now and then to cheer myself up. I was driving my daughter to her wellness checkup yesterday and we were moving and grooving in the car to The Black-eyed Peas. I have to admit I love to dance. I do it from time to time in the privacy of my own home with her and our dog! He jumps around us. It just makes me feel better to bust loose sometimes. I'm nothing great- think Elaine on Seinfeld! ;o) but I also have a history of doing a little stealth disco behind unsuspecting co-workers, in the grocery store. . . What do you guys do to bust loose? If you are usually a jazz person- do you from time to time get silly with some Radio Disney? Does big hair 80's music make you want to jump around? Are you a closet hip-hop wannabee? I feel like taking a poll- one that might just make some of us smile. I so need it these days! Thanks!!!

One more thing to add: Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, but rather about learning to dance in the rain.

Oh I like that sooooo much! Yes. I am a closet dancer. I dance in my car. I dance in the shower. I sing (loud but poorly). I've done it all my life--even as a small child. It's one of the things my daughter remembers growing up with her Mom (me!). We would go in the livingroom, turn up the music, and dance our little hearts out!

What a nice pick-me-up post! Thank you!

I love to dance, too. So much that I took a ballroom dance class last spring and am strongly considering taking it again this year. I had soooooo much fun. The tango is awesome and I even taught my son (11) some moves. He loves to dance, too.

I have been known to pull my jammies up & down to show my huggies (or worse), and do some pretty silly moves to Get This Party Started, for no good reason. I can't stand that song, but who can resist pretending to be a fashionable bootie-licious hip-hopper for a few minutes? The dog thinks it hilarious. Rowrrrrrrr!

LTD- was just thinking- nothing better than a man who loves to dance. My AH would only dance with beers in him. Sounds like you are teaching your son well.

Reggae will get me on my feet. Ya man!
Listening to the ol' Donna Sommers disco music def. makes for gyrating hips.
The newest Justin Timberlake Cd is great to groove to. Whenever I am feelin' down, cranking up the volumne on some fav. CDs is a good escape.

I don't know what it would be like to hook up with a tap-dancing man! I love to tap, I taught it for a while to 4-5 years olds - what a hoot. My dream was to be a Rockette. 5'3" doesn't cut it!

I also love to sing at the top of my lungs.

I couldn't LIVE without music--all kinds---and singing out loud if I suck or not!

Sometimes, I HAVE to listen to music, just to get the housework done!

I would listen to music and dance here and there 24/7 if I could.

Thanks for this post!

I would dance to anything with a beat -- but if I even start to bob my head to the music my daughter pleads with me to stop. Mothers are soooo embarrassing to 13 year old daughters!!!

think Elaine on Seinfeld!
Stella! Stellllll - lllllaaaaa! Sorry, couldn't resist. I can't dance a lick. I have two left feet. But I do enjoy playing tag or hide and go seek with my little doggie. My daughter says I look ridiculous, but I don't care. It's fun!

Pajarito -

Glad to know I'm not the only one! I can't dance, but it doesn't stop me. I work 3rd shift in a restaurant and I have to mop the dining room. The ONLY way I can do it, is to have my MP3 player on and dance with the mop. Luckily, I don't do it when customers are around and my coworkers are used to it

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

Mop Confession...

What's sillier than dancing with a mop and an MP3 player? Dancing with a mop and pretending that the ropes are Fabio's long hair at the same time.

Keep in mind this was a long time ago. A long, long time ago....
