have you ever wondered how others got their screen name?

i've noticed so many screen names and wondered what significance they held for each of us.

i'll share what mine is about. when my fiance died from cancer, i was lost. a friend gave me a book called "embraced by the light' by betty jean eadie.

it started me on a spiritual journey in the year 2000....so hence, embraced2000.

anyone else care to share?

It's my favorite book! I think I've read it 20 times. I have no clue why I picked this screen name.

Yep, nothing better for a codie than a "velcro" dog like a dobie. And what better way to put my "rescuing" skills to good use!!

I was 6 during the blizzard of 77 in Buffalo. It was so cool. All that snow, no school, playing in 10ft of snow (I love the snow). I also love Buffalo, it's where I grew up and I miss home so much. My dad who died when I was 7 owned his own gas/service station and was stuck there for a week and it was only 6 miles from home. He was an A so for him as long as his favorite bar was open he didn't miss being at home. He was also a wonderful man and was fixing cars for free and giving people gas for free, he was actually on the news and I just thought it was so neat to see him on TV. There was an acutal board game called the blizzard of 77!!!!!!! Us Buffolians took great pride in surviving snow storms. I miss that now.

that's not my dobie but it is one of the ones we've saved. I didn't have one of my baby on this computer so I grabbed that one since she looks just like mine--they could be twins!

My name pretty much explains itself. I'm an avid reader with a house-full of dogs. ;-)

Embraced -

I think she means that she read the book you mentioned 'Embraced by the Light'. The name 'mallowcup' just was something she pulled out of the air.

Mallowcup -

Correct?

After years of struggling with addiction, it was time. Time to surrender. ") And it worked.

One of my favorite bands is Dream Theater. Their drummer is a recovering alcoholic. He has written a saga about the 12 steps that spawns 3 of their albums. The first in the unfinished saga covers steps 1 and 2, and is titled "The Glass Prison".

When the divorce is final I'll change it to "Butterfly" since I'll have made it out of my cocoon.
