Everyone like wishes. Wishes can be fun to make,
but can also have consequences attached to them.

So be careful for what you wish for. : )

Just for fun here....if your fairy Godmother or Father
came down to grant you 3 wishes today, what would
they be?

It can be a wish to drive a fast sports car. Maybe a
trip to the moon, or to meet ur Maker, or take a
fun exotic trip, ride a camel in Egypt, swing from
a star....lol ANYTHING....

Chose ur wishes carefully and fun.

to be a model or actress
for both me and my 18yrold son to stay sober
by some miracle for my drivers privileges be given back to me today so I can drive again until waiting til December

That everybody, everywhere, finds whatever program, recovery they need to live a peaceful, happy existence (the ol' "World Peace...and a puppy" concept)

For the insight, courage, and capital to cash in on the Next Big Idea

For the love of a good, warm, available man, who I also love and respect.

My humanitarian side: 1) world peace; 2) an end to world hunger; 3) a cure for cancer

My selfish side: 1) a closet full of fabulous shoes; 2) to be a size 3 again; 3) to be lying on a beach in Bali with Jon Bon Jovi

The REAL me: 1) respect and admiration from my daughters 2) love and forgiveness from my husband; 3) the ability to right all of my wrongs

But that Bon Jovi thing sure would rock!!!!!!!!!

I would wish...

1. ...for my hard-working, 5 years sober, single-dad brother to find himself free from money worries so he could afford to move to a safer neighborhood. He works so hard to try and make a good life for his daughter and himself, but it seems like life just doesn't ever cut them a break. (But thank God he's sober )

2. ...that acts of senseless, evil violence would never happen to another child anywhere in the world.

3. ...for the 100% certain knowledge that I will never, ever pick up another drink as long as I live no matter what.

Hi Im Sharon and Im an alcoholic.

I took my question to work with me this morning just to think about it and see what a few co-workers had to say about it. Of course i didnt tell them that this had anything to do with my sobriety.

Anyway....Im still pondering over it.

There are some good thoughts shared here already.

I was however kinda hoping ud go "FAR OUT" oops that's a John Denver saying...lol on ur wishes....like "off the wall" lol

I liked Ruby T's post as she broke it up into 3 parts.....Id probably do the same since there are more wishes id really like to have come true....

But...i did say 3 wishes..... : )

I do like the Bon Jovi wish....he is a cutie....I saw him on tv the other night with some kind of Kids concert....Whew..! He still looks and sings great..!

Me on the other hand ...lol would have like to be on the beach with Father Ralph (Richard Chamberlain) from the Thorn Birds....this would have been many years ago tho....lol

on a me side...Health(continued sobriety), wealth(comfortably secure)Not rich. , Happiness(in all my affairs)

on a serious side....to end child abuse....that no child would EVER have to hurt again. to only know happiness and joy of life.

To have the ultimate relationship with my Higher Power. For that, that would mean to give up everything....to drop all and Follow Him.... I did wish that when i was back in Baton Rouge after 6 yrs sober and it led me here to Houston.... been here for 10 yrs now..... I SOOOO MISS HOME. : ( Becareful what u wish for for it will come true in some way or form. : )

Selfishly Id wish for.....to be flawless.

LOL! I remember watching that miniseries one summer at my grandma's house! I think Grandma, my cousin, and I would have sailed away to an island retreat off Australia with ol' Father Ralph, given the chance!

2. To be in a committed, loving, honest, and healthy relationship.
3. For all politicians in the world to actually work for the good of the people--all people. (I felt bad being completely selfish, and I wanted to keep to the spirit of the OP).

I am Aaron alcoholic and I would like to wish for a Good job since my bussiness is slow and I got laid off from what was paying the bills. 2.I would just like enough money to get by for a couple months 3.I would like for the judge who took my license to give it back cause I have done everything they asked me to do the first time without getting in anymore trouble. dang I needed one more wish lol

Ya know, I was thinking about that selfish wish...let's combine that one into: on a beach in Bali with Jon Bon Jovi WEARING a size 3 bathing suit and fabulous shoes...yeah, even better!! And to those of you who don't know this already...Jon doesn't drink!! I'd be the perfect date!! Ha Ha! Yeah, sobriety WILL NOT take away my humor!

My ex mother in law used to say a few things like

Wish in one hand and sh!t in the other and see which one fills up first!

Another one she used to say was

Vic, you could fall in a bucket of Sh!t and come out smelling like a rose

So I guess I better just be happy with what I have and where I have been.
