Worse with relapse?
Went six months then relapsed for about a week.
Now after almost a month after relapse my blood pressure has been way up and having palaptiatons like never before. I don’t feel anxious but can’t help think the relapse has caused anxiety.
What’s confusing is it all seems worse now than it ever did when I drank heavy for ten years straight.
It’s almosr like my body is flipping out, pissed off at me...
Anyhow I am going in today for an ekg and should know more later. Just wanted to know if this sounds common to others or if I should be as freaked as I am.

I have never relapsed, but having the palpitations and high anxiety is what I experienced my first week of recovery. Having the EKG done and getting checked out is a good decision.
I went through the same thing when I relapsed after four years. It was miserable. It was never that bad back before I got into recovery. I remember standing at the big drill press I was running and out of nowhere I was hit with fear. I don't know what the fear was about, but I started crying. I would get the palpitations too. Thank God I made it back into recovery after a month.
