Can I start by saying how amazed I am this forum exists! I've never really put together my GAD/alcohol problems or realised others may have similar issues.
My GAD started about 8 years ago. At worst I was agoraphobic and stayed indoors for close to six months. It was triggered after an accident but, despite various therapies, remains a part of my life.
A few years ago I started drinking. It's escalated severely to the point where I've decided today is 'the day' - I've got a doctors appointment tomorrow and would like to feel I can talk to him honestly about my problems.
The thing getting me though is the anxiety already. I'm terrified! Not sure of what but I'm on edge and feel 'off' if that makes sense.
