What I like about myself.....
- Perseverance and the ability to forge ahead - even in trying circumstances - and still find hope for a promising future.
- The realization that I am still worthy and lovable, despite my flaws.
- Quirky sense of humor.
- I love to tend the earth and grow flowers and vegetables.
- My eyes are a really awesome shade of blue, and I'm attractive.
- I take pride in my work, do a quality job and exceed expectations.
- I don't kill living creatures.
- I am loyal, trustworthy and responsible.
- I have old-fashioned virtues in what I would consider a higher moral standard and I am modest, increasingly rare qualities in today's society.
- I love to read, and very rarely watch TV. I have never seen an episode of Seinfeld or Friends.
- I think outside the box, and am drawn toward more intelligent and refined individuals than myself.
- I'm artistic and imaginative, and good at photography, drawing (especially pen and ink), creative writing, etc. I also write (print) very neatly.
- In the health care field, I cared for sick and injured individuals with compassion and efficiency.
- I love and cherish the gifts of laughter, dreams, sunshine, a star-filled sky, family, animals, empathy, friends, learning and love.
- As each day passes, I become ever more grateful for the abundance life has to offer, and everything and everyone who contributes to my growth.
Thanks for this thread Amanda..... it was a much needed exercise. Some days I'm hard-pressed to think of even a few things, and most days I don't even bother. I thought of more stuff too, but I thought I'd keep it to a low roar, lol.

This is the third time I've come to this thread and I just can't write anything. I'm impressed with those of you who have enough self confidence to write such positive things about yourself.
I guess I can say that I like the fact that I haven't given up on myself trying to become a better wife and mother. And my kids say I make the best cheesecake.

I've been keeping up with this thread and it's lovely to see the feedback from people about what they like about themselves. For those that have found it a challenging thread I'd like to say, please go easy on yourself, you're here, you're actively choosing recovery, if you didn't care about you you wouldn't be here doing that and you know what - we are *all* special, in one way or another. I hope we all can recognise that. I can feel another thread coming on :-)
* I am a very fast learner
* I can do anything I put my mind to
* I am an excellent student
* I'm good at my job (even though I spend too much time on SR while I'm
"working"
* I am incredibly passionate about women's issues and poli sci
* I am incredibly empathetic
* I treat my two cats like they are the living end
* I love my entire family and they love me (unconditionally)
* I think I’m pretty
* I am open minded
* I am very in touch with nature
* I can make a difference in this world
* I am an incredibly loyal friend
* I appreciate beauty…whether it be in people or nature
Isn’t it sad that I have never sat down to this about this before?
