is there a safe ammount
i was thinking, and i have seen people who are alcoholics, and then i see people who just drink occasionally, and so i am trying to say, is it safe to drink every so often,like i mean once every 2 weeeks or so...??

As an alcoholic I cannot control my compulsion to drink once I start. Sure it is safe to drink every so often, but not for alcoholics. If that were the case I wouldn't have a drinking problem. Alcohol is not an option for me. Not even once in awhile. I cannot stop at one drink.

Like the contact of a small raindrop landing in a puddle; the meager impact produces ample amounts of aftermath. Alchohol is a bit different from ice cream.

Depends on whether you have had problems with alcohol before. People who can have a couple drinks every 2 weeks or so are not alcoholics. I can't stop at 2. I couldn't go 1 day, much less 2 weeks without drinking.

I will never be able to "safely" ingest alcohol.......which is not to say that if I accidentaly drank some alcohol I would have a relapse.....
....what it means is that the risks are far too great for me to even think I can have just one drink.
Avoiding alcohol in all forms ( incl food, medicine) is a rule that I make for myself because I know the cunning , baffling and powerful nature of my affliction....

For me - NO, NO, NO, NO .. ..
I did try it a number of times, really tried hard to be a social, casual type drinker, thought about it a lot, even convinced myself that I was .. but that was just a lie.
I am an alcoholic, by definition that means there is NO safe amount for me to drink EVER. That is my truth.
