After 50 days of no drinking I almost slipped this weekend. It’s
strange how the cravings can sneak up on you. I still can’t believe
I’ve made it 50 days! This would be impossible without SR.....

Green Tea,
I've been sober for over 14 years - I still sometimes have to fight to stay sober. Though temptation is not nearly as often as it was in early sobriety; complacency is a terrible thing. Just when you think you've got it - it will do everything to get you drinking.
Congrats of 50 days. Keep it one day at a time and be grateful you have today, sober!

Jen you are so right about complacency... I have found again and again that when I am not working on my recovery (ignoring it, being complacent...) the beast stir's in its sleep.... starts sending me subliminal messages... better to let Sleeping Dogs Lie.

Green Tea,
Well done on your 50 days that's a great achievment and you should be proud of yourself.
The craving for a drink can creep up on you any time any place and it is something that I try to keep aware of. Complacency or overconfidence seem to be my trigger points. All too often when I think I have cracked this sobriety thing along comes a craving and my mind starts to spin. Far better to be constantly ready and mentally prepared for the attack.
Best wishes
