I just found out last night that one of my high school classmates died in August - of liver failure. I suspect it was alcohol-related. I wasn't close with him, but I remember him well - he was a very popular, bright, well-liked guy. He was only 32 or 33 years old. He leaves behind a wife and two little girls.

Man. I'm still reeling from the news.... not only because I knew him... but more to the point, I know his demon so well. Alcohol, that monster. So sad, so very sad and so very sobering, literally.

RIP, Timothy Barnett.

Just... so sad.

Here's to all of you out there who have conquered the demon... and to those of you who still struggle - much love.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. It is a terrible waste of a young life, I can only hope that somehow some good will come of it. Maybe someone somewhere will be able to make the decision to quit because of this. I feel so sorry for his wife and children.

Very sorry for your loss,,,and yes, young indeed. No accounting for why some die of it early, others dont.....cunning, baffling,powerful.
