In a rage of madness - Please Read

...I thought what if we destroy the big book and start again...

...which got me excited...

...then I felt guilty...

...but wouldnt it be cool...?

.....if we could all just try and find our own way...then come back in ten years time...and pool together all the things we found useful? That would be revelotionary.

Sadly, I fear the drink to much, will go to a meeting tonight....

...so I got down on my knees, confessed my sins, and fell asleep.

Millwall, if this line of thinking continues, just take two steps and call me in the morning.....Ha!

Well...

No need to destroy the BB..there are many bersions of the Bible.

And I think you should write your own take on recovery. Many of us do already.

I call my version 'My Journal'

one's personal interpretation of recovery is incredibly healthy in my opinion, there is a problem when people start writing there own take on recovery and start to pronounce it as gospel at meetings, i know this one meeting which has a very puritannical reading for each reading of the steps it's just one mans opinion (the man who started the meeting) and is loaded with negativity and judgementalism and unfortunately is read out like it's conference approved literature, everyone's entitled to their opinion, it's just when that opinion is put forward as gospel and then the trouble begins, i s'pose it's good that the big book's content is strictly guarded against being changed willy nilly...

or burnt it and then wee'd on it - that would be most disrespectful!

joking aside, the big book is pretty cool really, i can't find anything in there that annoys me at all.
