Positive thread: what’s your favorite hobby right now?

Mine (particularly lately and throughout 2020) is cooking with cast iron. I’ve been doing a lot of different kinds of fish lately — salmon, steelhead, ahi tuna, grouper, Chilean sea bass, swordfish, rainbow trout… working to perfect the cook on each one, making great sides, focusing on presentation and feeding friends/family. It’s a lot of fun.

what about y’all? What hobby are you leaning into right now?

I'm a cricut crafter and have been making t-shirts and greeting cards. I also have a small garden that I like spending time in.

Riding my motorcycle. It is fun and therapy at the same time. Helps me to be mindful, centered, and in the present moment...oh yeah and in my head is the little boy going WHEEE!!!

I had a motorcycle when I was an active alcoholic but I told myself I wouldn't ride it drunk, so it sat in the garage gathering dust. Now days, I ride about 200 days a year and every single time I come home going "Damn that was fun!" I am still that little boy who remembers his first ride on the back of a bike when he was about 12 years old. :~)

39 Friday and its still video games\ anime. Broke and can't afford to do anything else really. Trying to learn my piano but I've been trying for years and its hard without lessons. Does feel great though when I can play a new song, even when messing up, lol. Thinking about getting back into photography, I have an older DSLR but its amazing still and several nice lenses.

Reading, walking/hiking, and Netflix! I love that I can check books out of the library on my kindle. I also bought a few at a used book store recently, and a few new ones with a gift card I received for Mother’s Day.

Mine is playing golf. Sometime badly, sometimes well - there are always a couple of shots that keep me hooked. It's such a great way of spending free time, having a laugh with some friends and getting some exercise.

I've been gardening lately....it's therapeutic for me; I like to make things colorful and attract the pollinators

Besides the joy of watching golf championships season
to season, I enjoy landscaping my garden of paradise,
gardening, searching for that next newest, exciting, unusual
plant, whether it be online or the many garden centers
around town, to add beauty and attract life's littlest pollinators
to keep our garden alive and vibrant and similar to what
Purplrks does in her own garden of paradise.

I've just recently got into HO scale model trains. It's something I've always wanted to do but didn't have time for. Now that I'm into semi-retirement I plan on model training in the winter and getting back on the golf course in the summer.

I have been reading as much as I can about alcoholism and recovery. Also, enjoying learning about economics and tax strategies (legal of course).
I am about to start back on my health and fitness routine as that went to the wayside with early sobriety.

And I love to sleep lolol that actually a hobby for me !

That's great, photography is one of my big hobbies, too. It's the perfect hybrid of technical and artistic. Plus it gets me outside from time-to-time (which is much needed when you work in digital). Favorite lens? I'm been favoring my 30mm 1.4 prime lately - great for capturing the kiddos.

My once hobby that has somewhat returned is guitar playing - which is probably not a surprise from my avatar ;-) I took lessons as a youngster and now I'm basically a living room rock star, in my own mind at least ;-)

I wouldn't call it a hobby, it's more a passion for me - my dog and two cats. I give them lots of attention and affection and walk my beagirl Billie as often as I can. Walking is another passion of mine, especially walking Billie.

I also like reading and since I'm not too drunk or sick to do it, I read a lot more.

Scrapbooking, card making, mini albums, adult paint by numbers, miniature doll house kit building, reading, walking. Too many hobbies, not enough time!

LOVE all these!

Golf, (just completing second very short season), hiking epic hikes, gardening, reading, baking.

Abccowboy and gator, my mom used to design trains for Lionel, HO scale specifically. That was in the 1970s. She was one of the first female drafts people in the US, and the only one at Lionel at the time 🥰
