Hi. I have been taking antabuse on and off for years to try to get some days together. I always had side effects however recently, even after one dose, I become very strange. Extremely mentally confused, feel 'outside' of myself, anxiety, memory problems, a sort of mania and very weird thoughts. I will never take it again, however am very interested to know if anyone else has these sorts of side effects.

You should have gotten a leaflet with the medication.

Things like perfume mouthwash or even food can sometimes make some people feel ill, if those things contain alcohol.

Yes got the leaflet and it does talk about in extreme cases people can have psychiatric side effects - looks like I am one of those. Just weird because I have never met anyone else who has experienced them.
