Antabuse & Skoal - this a problem?

I'm drinking my last beer tonight, and have committed to being sober tomorrow and taking first dose of Antabuse. Of course I'm also addicted to nicotine - looked up the ingredients for Skoal and see it contains Ethyl Alcohol. Has anyone had experience with this combo and know if I should expect an adverse reaction due to the alcohol content in Skoal?

Hi Rick - welcome

I have no experience with Antabuse or skoal.

Did the Antabuse come with any leaflets or information? I'd look at that, or maybe check directly with your doctor?

I'd probably try and steer clear if rick. I was a habitual smokeless tobacco user for many years, although I fortunately quit that habit prior to quitting drinking. If you do continue with the smokeless, I would imagine there are probably brands that don't contain alcohol out there.

I was on antabuse but have not used chewing tobacco. As far as i know though, through life experience not medical experience, the amount of alcohol in chewing tobacco is not anywhere near enough to cause any indication of an increase in BAC on a blood test. I would strongly suggest that you start the antabuse.
