When you say gratitude...what form does that take? I'm trying to understand how that works...what do you do exactly?

I deliberately look for things/people/events to be grateful for. Even a small thing like the cashier smiling at me. My dog lying in my lap, kissing me. My brother, for taking me to the store a lot. My neighbor, for driving me up to the store to get my umbrella I'd left there. Little things. Big things. Anything.

And I find that the more I practice gratitude, the more I find to be grateful for. I find that being grateful makes me a happier person.

The other part of gratitude, is expressing it directly to someone. Like my signature says: FIND THE GOOD AND PRAISE IT. Notice all the good things around you and if someone is being kind or helpful, thank them and praise them. Praise goes a long way in soothing the soul.

Here's a good article about gratitude.
