Feeling grateful
My daughter was married on Saturday. So many plans were changed because of Covid 19 but we pulled it off and it was beautiful! It would have been a perfect day, however, my eyes were on my sister. She crossed that line from feeling good to blackout . First of all I need to point out that she is not a heavy drinker but can’t handle more than a few wines. She ended up falling and her husband took her home. Here’s what bothers me most. She is a loving person who was so excited for her niece. She couldn’t wait for this wedding. She’s kind and generous but was unable to enjoy most of the celebration because of alcohol! I know how badly she must feel right now. I’m not mad, just sad that this happened. I am an alcoholic and haven’t had a drink in over six years. I understand that a wedding is a time to celebrate and have a few drinks but some people just can’t! I’m one of them and was having a great time without alcohol. I never thought I could but it is possible. I love being clear headed every day. I left many events early because of drinking too much and missed out on a lot. I’m not going back there!
