Please stay on the Sober bus - pt.38
Thank you Sao and Leigh for the well wishes for these wildfires.
I haven't felt all that well the last two days and I think it's because of all the smoke, irritants and gunk in the atmosphere. The sun is actually red here. Blessings to the firefighters on the line risking their lives.
Glad to be on the Sober Bus this morning.
Love and peace to all.

Oh cool it's Wednesday already.....we really should have 3 day weekends more often!
Got my coffee, ready to roll!
Edit to add: I saw pics on IG from Oregon of the sun & sky....no filter... I'm like holy crap!

Yeah, when I woke up the sky was red. Not orange, red. It's definitely fire season. If fires have a season.
I kept the windows closed yesterday. This is a bit more challenging when it's hot and there's nowhere to go, like a movie or the mall...WTH else could happen? I shouldn't even say that...
On the sober bus though. Stayingsassy said yesterday in another thread that she figures most people in recovery aren't staying sober through this covid thing.
I am here to plant my flag firmly in the sober soil. I have not and will not waver.

I hope that stayingsassy is mistaken and that people in recovery at the onset of COVID are still so but I can certainly where COVID would make it more difficult. I am concerned, too, for those who were close to the edge of alcoholism at the onset of COVID and who have been pushed over that edge.
Thank you so much, Sao and Leigh! Leigh, I am too hoping that people aren't falling off the wagon. Prayers to those struggling.
It's 10:42 am and it is still dark outside from the smoke. So crazy. I had to run an errand and my car was covered with ash. I have to walk Luke later, but after that, I'm not going out of the house at all. The air/atmosphere is kind of scary and not healthy.
Happy to be on the Sober Bus with you fine folks. Stay safe.
Have a great day.
