Hello old friends-year 11 & still dry
Well I'm back again as June 1st brings my annual quit day and I'm so grateful to say this is my 11th year of sobriety without a SINGLE DROP of alcohol.....11 years !!
I have no desire for the drink other than I really do miss the TASTE of the first drink from an ice cold bottle of beer (non-alcoholic is okay but just not the same)...a shot of Canadian Rye with cola/ginger ..a nice red wine with dinner or a fine scotch whisky..
But I know i must resist the urge ( as minimal as it has become) and not have to fear the potential
To those struggling with this affliction God Bless and grant you the strength to overcome...you can do it !!!
See you all next June 1st

Congrats on 11 years Nanook. that is fantastic! There are lots of people on here 365 days a year that benefit from hearing other people share their journey in sobriety, the trials, the tribulations, and the successes. Don't be a stranger. I look forward to hearing more of your journey.
