New to SB, almost at 90 days
Hi folks!
I have been lurking a bit the past few months before deciding to join. On 05/3 I'll have 90 days sober from alcohol. I'm excited for that but also know that I can't rest on my laurels.
My first 4-6 weeks were hell with withdrawals, and the detox meds I took (Librium) I think affected me too. Insomnia, panic attacks, heavy fatigue, etc. The next month wasn't as bad, but still a struggle. Currently I feel progressively better but I am still having some visual disturbances/slightly off vision from PAWS or withdrawal, and often heavy fatigue. I know that the latter is pretty normal.
I'm really hoping that the last symptoms gradually go away with time, especially my vision. It's functional, but it's off. Anybody experience this? According to what I can find online, both heavy alcohol withdrawal and/or benzo after effects can cause blurred/disturbed vision for at least a time.
I only took Librium for two weeks, and low dose and tapered at the end.
Looking for community and encouragement.

just lost my additional: might be a good idea to consult a healthcare person about the visual issues; many of them do video appointments these days.good to have you here, and way to go on those sober days!

Hey Dee, much appreciated. I hope so too! or even just in the next month or so. I definitely feel better than I did even a month ago on average. 1-2 months ago I could barely be present near someone or a group because I had insane anxiety and almost like a body high in my stomach (panic?). I notice now I can sit or stand near people for a while. I did so all day today with family.
