I drank last night. I didn稚 do anything embarrassing or that I am cringing about. But I still am not going to convince myself that I can handle my alcohol. I got lucky and I知 not trying to see what happens next time. Although I feel like I keep struggling. I知 not perfect but I really going to keep trying. The more I post the more I feel like I知 not trying to brush my drinking under the carpet. Before I would post and then try to forget what happened and let enough time pass over and do it again!!!! Just needed to post to keep myself accountable.

Welcome back JustMe. For me, accountability started with making a daily committment to some kind of plan for living sober, vs just "not drinking". Certainly the decision to drink in the first place is a choice we can all make, but it also helps to have a consistent plan around doing that. Some have very involved meeting based plans, others make someting of their own. Some even use the SR community as their primary support group. You will find many who have gotten and stayed sober by all of those methods here, and you can learn a lot from them.
