Obsessing about New Orleans
From my sobriety experience I've found that periods of intense inspiration are reminders that our physiology is constantly on the proverbial mend; it seems like you've definitely captured a mental vignette of a place that you associate with laissez les bon temps rouler
I've dealt with much the same--although it's Seattle, not NO
Enjoy the reminisce and creative vibes that ensue...minus the alcohol of course I'll have a cup of coffee as well (in Seattle they always do!)

Le bon temps indeed! A big howdy Todd!! Where have you been?
Although....I could meditate at Marie Laveau's tomb for hours as well. Yes, I am crazed about new orleans.
Finding...sorry you're down. I know the feeling well. Good thing is: when we stay sober it eventually passes. Sounds like a lot of external stress: maybe find a hibernation spot? always works for me.
