Yes, there are plenty of jobs that will hire people with a DUI on your record.

Not to diminish the gravity of a DUI, but most people are pretty understanding as long as the perpetrator is serious about recovery and does not repeat the offense. You'd probably be surprised how many high-ranking professionals in all fields and sectors have been convicted of DUI; there are many different circumstances under which such a thing can occur as well, and as long as the person doesn't take it lightly, most employers will be understanding.

The most important thing is to take it seriously and never do it again. If this means taking classes/going to inpatient or outpatient rehab, or whatever, do it.

I think it depends on where you are to some extent. In the UK drunk driving is a huge social stigma; in other places (US?) it seems less so.

Yes it is possible.

It reflects well if you can demonstrate sobriety if it is raised at an interview though.

Best of luck

The company I work for is really strict about background checks, pre-employment drug tests, etc. Its a warehouse and with pallet jacks and forklifts all over the place, sobriety at work is key. This being said, we have folks in lower and mid-management that have had past drug and alcohol problems, and have a track record of sobriety, or at least being able to drink moderately.

I think there is a difference between someone who got a DUI once in their younger years and got themselves straightened out - than someone who is showing up for work hung over everyday.
