1 and 3/4 years

Hello all - just checking in. Today I am 21 months sober after 27 years of daily drunkenness.

Life just keeps getting better - my anxiety and depression is basically just a bad memory now.

I really have to stay in the moment and not dwell on the past or future; there is no fear in the now.

Huge congratulations Doug!!

We got sober nearly the same day! My depression and anxiety also got a lot better although I'm struggling recently but that's because of a break up and an injury.

Keep going!

Congrats and hugs! That's wonderful to hear. My depression and anxiety got a lot better too, after some sober time.

Congratulations! Coincidentally, I will have 21 months in two days - also after years (not quite 27 - but about 10) of DAILY (like all day) drunkenness.

I can echo your statement. I don’t know if you go to AA or not, but if you do-like me, you realize the promises really do come true!

Yes, I am very active in AA. It was God and AA that saved me from my alcoholism.

Last Friday I gave my 9th lead, I am secretary of 2 groups, I have chaired countless times, made coffee, etc, etc,

Hi Doug, thanks for sharing! What a milestone! Congrats to you, keep up the great work!!

I try to focus on “today, right now, the present,” too.. helps me a lot! I still have to practice every day. My default button automatically goes back to thinking in the past and future!!

Kudos to you, please stop by and share that big 2 years coming up soon!! Wishing you the best! Nice job, great post!!
