Normally Right About Now...
I've been out of town on business for the last week.
Tomorrow I have a late flight and no meetings or anything in the morning.
A year or two ago, I would have taken this opportunity to run to the store, buy a few bottles of wine (and a wine opener) and gotten myself good and blitzed alone in my hotel room. My wife would not know and there would be little in the way of consequences the next morning (other than the hangover).
I absolutely lived for business trips.
I am not drinking right now and am not drinking tonight; however, yesterday I did get that little voice saying:
"You haven't had a drink in a year. You deserve it. She'll never know..."
This is the first time I've heard that voice in a very long time.
I've ignored it and continued to ignore it--just shows that the little voice never goes away.

Remember, White Thunder, that that little voice is a consummate liar who cares absolutely nothing about you, your health, your happiness, or your welfare.
