The best Part about today

I'll go first.

Yest it was picking a peach off my tree and cuting it up and shareing it with my daughter under the tree!

today I'm going to buy a powerball ticket and all day long have talked about how i'm gonna wake up rich tommorrow.

Oh and still sober!

This forum. Going to bed sober and....knowing I won't feel rough in the morning. And cheese and tomato toasties. Hey that's a few things! 😊

Great topic ZJW

Not sure - it was either having a day full of mild frustration and ultimately deciding it wasn't that big a deal - whereas the old me would take it as an excuse for a drink - or planking ( it's an exercise for your stomach muscles ) for the first time tonight and finding out I am starting to get reasonably fit.

Great positive post!
It was the healthy meal I prepped and shared with my incredible sober gay boyfriend! The laughter that ensued and the dog walk that followed. Oh and every solitary sober breath I drew today.
Thanks for the post!
Jules

Reading & retaining what I read.

Having conversations that I'll actually remember tomorrow.

Savoring my day, instead of letting it slip through my fingers in a zombie-like state.

it may seem dumb to many but i had a petromax style lamp i bought years agoe and really liked the last time i used it was for this exact camping trip i'm getting ready to go do again. Well at that time i had issues a valve was leaking and i needed a new seal. I got discouraged couldnt find the part and put the lamp in my garage where it has rotted for 6 years or so. now the last time i did this trip I had just sobered up and MAN was I mess. the shakes and all total train wreck.

Today i went in my basement in a box of parts that came with the lantern and low and behold I find the exact seal i need! I replace it get the lamp all working its not leaking and ready to go now.

I couldnt be happier. I've been stressing over this trip i'm haunted by memories of the last time (i had just gotten sober we left early cause of rain mentally i was a mess this lamp was a fireball scary mess the last time etc..) But now things are looking up and if anything fixing that lamp today made my day!

its the stupid little things! lol.

Yeah, I need to learn also to slow down sometimes. Happy camping, I love camping and slowly getting my wife used to the idea of tent camping.

took a couple of my kids to a concert last night afterwards we got to meet the band etc.. and get autographs etc..

this whole music stuff i've gotten into has really helped me connect with my kids better and created many really awesome good times and memories.

when i drank i just sat like a bump on a log with a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the otehr and did nothign with myself but get sicker and sicker.

everyone thinks i'm crazy doing this bagpipe stuff but its been a fun ride!

point is dont drink and start saying yes to some of those "stupid" ideas you have and see where life takes you.

Is it weird this thread kind of made me cry a little....had a similar weekend. Picked pumpkins I grew in the backyard with my kids. Took pictures and laughed and went out to get Mexican food. Helped my youngest with homework. All of it seemed so beautiful. Like being back from the dead and seeing life in a new way.

I wake up feeling great almost everyday.

I feel like I am in the game of life and not on the sidelines.

I love my wife and my pets and the people I work with and for.

Beats what I had when I walked through the doors of the treatment center.
