Stress
Stress
Today is, by a significant margin, the most stressful day I've had in my 20 months (plus one week!) of sobriety. The ticker is already beating fast and that nervous feeling has set in hard. Things could go really well or they could go terribly, there's really no way to know.
What does any of this have to do with this forum and my sobriety?
Nothing. That's the point. There is nothing that can happen today that will take away my sobriety. Nobody and no thing can take that from me. Only I can give away my sobriety and no matter how difficult any given day or week or month is, that is never going to happen. My sobriety is mine and nothing is more important.
I'll try to check in tonight and let everyone know how things turned out.
Cheers!

Some great thinking there Soberandhonest, these kinds of days are soooo much easier to deal with sober too. You will get through this just fine no matter what the outcome of your other issues.

This is inspiring. It is the way I must come to think about my own sobriety. Regardless of what I face drinking cannot be an option. I am typing this but I know full well I don't completely believe I can do it yet. I am only on day 60.
I hope the day goes ok for you.
Thanks

Thanks
How's the day panning out S&H?
Remember to look after the HALT triggers f you're already rattley. Those coming into play won't help anything!! Hungry - Eat. Angry - Talk to someone about it. Lonely - call a friend or get to a meeting. Tired - take an unscheduled Time Out.
Take care.

My day went just fine! Thanks all for the positive thoughts. A few more stressful days upcoming, but I am well-equipped and my sobriety will not be at issue. There really is something great about feeling our full emotions, even the ones that aren't necessarily positive.
