2 months in and Life IS GOOD!
May 22 was my first day of no booze.
Can't describe how much better I feel. Lost 30+ lbs as well.
Sleeping so much better, not dreading the mornings or if anyone is noticing how hung over I am.
Able to drive whenever I want and even able to eat out with other drinking and I am fine.
My pulse rarely got below 100 while drinking, now i've seen my resting pulse as low as 66. To think what the booze was going to me!
Do I occasionally miss the bottle, yes of course. Does that desire out-weigh the misery that came with it, no freaking way!
We can all do this, just want it and make it your priority!

That's great news Therpy, congrats on 2 months sober. Very glad to hear that you are seeing so many benefits as well - my heart rate was also very high when I drank and I saw a drastic reduction after a few months.

Nice work!!
I've noticed a dramatic reduction in my resting heart rate as well. It's in the 60-70s a lot of the time, which is amazing.
It used to always be in the 90-110 range. I'm a little over a month in.
Unbelievable what no alcohol will do.

I can understand your feelings and it will totally change your life. I am really happy for you but now always remember that why you quit that addiction and I think you should make a list of reason. I know that people often do this for their family and for their life. It is difficult and really leaves habits, but you did. your story is an inspiration to everyone here.

Congrats Therpy, and keep rocking it!
And yeah, the heart rate, blood pressure only keeps getting better as you heal, become fit and learn to deal with stress mindfully (vs. alcoholically).
My resting HR is now currently in the low 40's, and I still see upper 30's on some days. I'm 52 years old with a year and a half of sobriety, BTW...
