I wonder why we all seem to have a carbonation fixation?

After quitting alcohol, I still drink a huge volume of water and sugar free drinks. Drinking 2-3 large Perriers and a 12 pack of lemonade is not unusual for me. I'm an odd soul.

Sure. It's called The Mocktail Manual by Fern Green. I'll try to give an update on a recipe or two this weekend!

Very, very cold coke or water. Double shot latte with 3 sugars on special occasions.

The miserable tap water on offer here in the Phoenix area means a water cooler is almost a necessity. Having nice clean, ice-cold water on hand all the time means I drink more of that than anything else.

My favorite 'grown-up' drink is an Arnold Palmer, preferably made with fresh-brewed tea and Califia Farms lemonade. Best store-bought lemonade, hands down. Also love those two beverages on their own.

For those who have a Trader Joe's around, I like to cut their yummy Villa Italia Blood Orange soda with some regular sparkling mineral water. It feels like a special treat!

I like that you cut the soda with mineral water, Andante. I find that so many soft drinks nowadays seem to be so horribly sweet. Or maybe my tastes are just evolving as I get older.

Long summer days here in Oz, we have been making zero mojitos..lovely and refreshing and alcohol free.

Put ¾ cut lime, 11 large mint leaves, and either the Sprite or Simple Syrup + Club Soda into a glass. Using a muddler muddle the ingredients for about a minute.
Pour ice in and shake or mix well.
Garnish with mint and lime.
Serve immediately.

I was craving a spritzer earlier and realized I just wanted something fizzy (not the wine).
I got one for 79 bucks at Fred Meyers, but I don't recall the model. I keep like 4 to 6 flavors available so to keep it varied. Staples are diet cola without caffeine, diet ginger ale, sunny delight (surprisingly great!), And I usually have one of the essence flavors which makes it taste just subtle like talking rain seltzer.

I tried a few drinks yesterday, but the unquestioned best was: muddle about 8 rasberries and a couple mint leaves, add ginger beer, stir gently, serve. It is fantastic and easy to make.
